Ban The Internet?—-NEVER
January 5, 2008 on 1:40 pm | In life | 240 CommentsWell it’s not too much longer before I start hearing the patter of little hooves. I love going out to the barn and seeing all those big bellies and knowing that soon all those babies will be on the ground. Of course it’s really nice out this weekend, just like the weather man predicted, and all that nasty snow is melting away. It would be a great time for new babies with the temperature so unseasaonably mild, but it’s not going to happen. I still have a month to wait for the first ones, and up to two months for the last of the ones due. I’ve been starting to cruise around looking for some accessories for the truck. I need a carrier for the cargo bed. We have a huge trailer, but in a lot of cases with the goats when we go to sales or shows something that big isn’t necessary and it would be great if we could get away with not pulling that big heavy trailer when possible.
I’ve found a lot of sites for car and truck accessories I didn’t even know were out there. You can get Chrysler 300 accessories if you have a Chrysler or just about anything you desire for any model car or truck. It’s kind of amazing. It’s one of the things I love most about the internet. You can find out what’s available in the area of things you desire and then learn about things you never even knew were out there and wouldn’t have found if it weren’t for the Internet.
I was watching ‘I Robot’ yesterday (again and for the millionth time–I love that movie) and one of the lines was the big robot builder guy said “I suppose you’re one of those that would want to ban the Internet to keep the libraries open”… well, I’d hate to see libraries close down, but ban the Internet–perish the thought. The world is so much more open than ever before thanks to the marvelous and still somewhat mysterious abilities of cyber space.
The Everything Pet Supply
January 4, 2008 on 4:28 pm | In life | 402 CommentsHi everybody. Wow we got hit with that big old snowstorm less than a week ago, and now they’re predicting temperatures in the 50’s this weekend. Is that crazy or what? Until yesterday I was snowed in completely. Finally got it all cleared away so I could get some food in the house. Food is just about the only thing I actually go out and get, or send someone out to get. Everything else I buy online… well almost anyway. Everything from pet supplies to furniture is just a click away! I love Jeffers for supplies because they not only have stuff for the house animals, they also have a catalog for the horses, and even other animals on the farm like the goats. I prefer places like that because I’ve done business with them and know they are trustworthy, and their service fast, and since it is, I can get all my stuff from one place instead of hunting around and buying from a bunch of different places, and hope that they all have great service. I especially like it during the winter when it’s too yucky to go out and drive.
